This page uses Polis: a tool to harness collective intelligence via democratic deliberation.
Polis automatically identifies "opinion groups" based on how people vote, which are shown above. The visualization shows the "opinion space" of the conversation (this emerges from the data, so it's not a left-right spectrum), as well as how many people are in each group and how they voted on a series of comments. The opinion space and groups will continue to evolve as the conversation progresses.
Polis also finds comments that unite the opinion groups and prioritizes showing these "bridging" comments to more people. This allows participants to collectively steer the conversation towards consensus by identifying the best ideas democratically, without resorting to simple majoritarianism. The more you participate, the better the results will be!
